Foundations in Business

Offered only at Rennert, New York City, this unique high intermediate level course will put you on track to a successful career by developing the language skills necessary to communicate effectively in the changing world of business. Weekly modules focus on various topics and introduce language associated with marketing and advertising, international trade, government, finance, information technology and management, to name a few. In addition to business English, you will learn business skills such as interviewing, emailing, presentations and phone skills. Students will be asked to do a weekly presentation and/or assignment demonstrating their understanding of the weekly lesson.

Foundations in Business is an introductory course to American business that will enable students to communicate successfully in the business world.

Small classes of five to eight students meet for four hours a day, Monday through Friday (9:00am-1:00pm or 2:00-6:00pm). This program is affiliated with the Professional English Program (PEP), and you will receive a PEP certificate upon completion. You will also be able to mingle with other international professionals and enjoy the PEP facilities. To achieve even greater progress, students may supplement their studies with an elective class such as Advanced Conversation. The minimum age is 17.

• 20 hours per week, five days per week, four hours per day
• Class hours are 9:00am - 1:00pm or 2:00pm - 6:00pm
• Small groups with a maximum of 8 students
• Conversation is emphasized
• Students must be high intermediate to participate
• 12-week curriculum with registration from 1 to 12 weeks
• Students can start any Monday
• Certificate upon course completion
