Sponsored by the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music and Rennert, Music / English combines the study of music and American English in New York City. The Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music is one of the nation's oldest and largest community music schools. Their distinguished faculty members hold advanced degrees from world famous conservatories and universities, and many maintain active and prestigious performance careers. The Conservatory offers lessons in nearly all instruments and voice, and students may choose to concentrate on Jazz or Classical study. Students of all backgrounds and degrees of proficiency are welcome. Students attend English classes 20 hours per week where they will improve listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Then 2 hours per week will be spent in Private or Group Music Lessons with professionally trained instructors. Whether you want to become a professional singer, virtuoso musician, or just want to enhance your English studies by exploring and developing your musical talent, Rennert's Music / English program is for you. The Conservatory offers a wide array of classes including private instruction, orchestra, jazz ensemble, drumming, ear training, vocal ensemble and chamber music. Students also have the opportunity to attend concerts at the Conservatory at discounted rates.
