STEPS AND REQUIREMENTS
Practical English in the Working World (F-1 student VISA program)
Vacation 'n Volunteer (non-VISA program)
- Registration
- Interview with the Program Director to establish level and classes needed
- Create Resume: Create an American-format resume. Please follow the layout of the sample resume provided.
- Answer Program Questionnaire: The Rennert Bilingual AMERICAN BUSINESS IN ACTION (for PEWW and Vacation 'n Volunteer) Program questionnaire will provide us with information about your field of interest and expertise or major and background and will help us to find the best sponsor company for you.
- Sign the Program Agreement: It is necessary for you to read, understand, sign and date the program agreement.
- Pay the Program fees (for PEWW or Vacation 'n Volunteer): The program fees should be paid with the class registration fee.
- The Interview Process
- Evaluation Period: The staff of the AMERICAN BUSINESS IN ACTION Program will evaluate your qualifications, skills and interests and decide which company we believe will be the best match for you.
- The Interview: The meeting between you and a prospective sponsor company will be an opportunity for you and the company to get a chance to interact and evaluate if there is the potential for a positive working relationship.
- Follow-up: You will need to report to the Program staff at Rennert within 24 hours of your interview in order to tell us about the meeting and the likelihood of a placement at this organization.
- The AMERICAN BUSINESS IN ACTION Program
- Reporting to your PEWW or Vacation 'n Volunteer sponsor organization: You will report to the company in which you are placed, reporting as if you are an actual employee of the organization. The schedule will be arranged with your sponsor company. PEWW Program schedules are Monday to Friday with full-time class participation (including independent study), and part-time practical English exposure. Vacation 'n Volunteer schedules involve 16 hours of class a week for a total of 4 weeks, followed by volunteer work in a local company without classroom participation.
- Reporting to Rennert Bilingual
- Reports: You will be required to submit a 1 page report at scheduled intervals detailing the work that you have done and how you have benefited from either the PEWW or the Vacation 'n Volunteer Program. You will be given guidelines and ideas by the Program staff.
- After Program Completion
- Evaluation Form: Your final task is to fill out the program evaluation form. It is a form that asks you some questions about your experience as a student in the AMERICAN BUSINESS IN ACTION program.
- Receive your diploma: Congratulations! Your studies at Rennert Bilingual are complete.
