César Rennert is the founder and CEO of Rennert International, a full-service language school, teacher training center and translation services group in New York City, Miami and Istanbul.
Mr. Rennert created the company in 1973 with a vision of providing language instruction in Spanish, his native tongue, to his fellow New Yorkers. Over the years, the enterprise that began with this small goal expanded into an institute that enrolls thousands of students annually and is on the cutting edge of worldwide language instruction.
Today, Rennert's foreign language school offers private courses in all modern languages and group classes in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese. The company's English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are considered among the best and most innovative programs in the nation. In 1977, translation and interpreting services were introduced to complement the company's teaching programs. Through hard work and a rigorous quality control process, Rennert Translations Group has grown into a flourishing business that offers translation services, interpreting, voiceovers, subtitling and multilingual desktop publishing.
In 2004 Rennert extended its reach beyond New York into Miami with the addition of the Rennert Miami English language school. The following year the company established an intensive English as a Second Language teacher training program in New York that is affiliated with the World Learning SIT TESOL Certificate. In 2009, Rennert opened a language school in Istanbul.
Mr. Rennert has had a lifelong interest in languages and international communication. Prior to founding Rennert, he was a member of the Spanish faculty at various institutions, including New York University, John Jay College of the City University of New York, Baruch College and Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women. He was the Assistant Editor of Simon & Schuster's International Dictionary and was an Advisory Board Member of New York University's Certificate Program in Translation. He has co-authored, with Dr. Diane Smallen, the Spanish-language video Break the Language Barrier®.
Additionally, Mr. Rennert is one of the seven founders of IALC (the International Association of Language Centres). He has served as President, Vice-President and is the current Historian for the organization. IALC now consists of more than 100 language teaching institutions throughout the world. Membership in the association has become very prestigious and is reserved for schools that meet strict quality and ethical standards.
Mr. Rennert is also the President of NYESA (New York English Schools Association), the Association of all certified English schools in New York State.
He has served as a member of the Community Advisory Board for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
